Principles of Merit Table for South Warwickshire 2nd XV's
1 Competition is for second XV’s of South Warwickshire affiliated clubs
2 Games to be played under normal RFU laws
3 Players to be bona fide club members
4 Normal second XV fixtures including cup matches will count. A teams recognised level will qualify and that can be against another clubs 1st XV, 2nd XV, 3rd XV etc
5 Fixtures can be as arranged or pool fixtures where necessary between 05 September 2009 and 17 April 2010
6 Minimum number of match results to be nominated 20, maximum 30
7 Match results are to be left at mjconsulting@btinternet.com by Monday evening following the match. Periodically the merit table will be published on the website www.swrfu.com and in the local press
8 Merit table will be based on performance and shown as a percentage
9 In order to achieve this a team will be awarded a point for playing a match, an additional point if it is drawn and a further point for a win i.e. 1pt, 2pts or 3pts
10 Points difference will not be taken into account. So as not to discourage a team who has conceded a large number of points.
11 Percentages will be calculated as per the following examples
a) Nomads played 30, won 27, drawn 1, lost 4 = 87pts divided by 90 max pts * 100 = 96.67%
b) Casuals played 25, won 17, drawn 2, lost 6 = 61pts divided by 75 max pts * 100 = 81.33 %
c) Wanderers played 20, won 18, lost 2 = 56pts divided by 60 max pts * 100 = 93.33%

1 Competition is for the lowest regular Saturday XV’s of South Warwickshire affiliated clubs. Second teams if you have two teams, third teams if you have three teams, fourths or fifths etc. qualify to join.
2 Games are to be played under normal RFU laws.
3 Players to be bona fide club members.
4 Fixtures can be as already arranged or pool fixtures where necessary between 05 September 2009 and 17 April 2010.
5 All fifteen-a-side Saturday matches played between the dates are to be submitted, a minimum of 15 match results.
6 Match results are to be left at 01789 292610, email rajones@uwclub.net or by post to covering letter address by Tuesday morning post, following match. Periodically the merit table will be published on the website www.swrfu.com and in the local press.
7 For the award for the highest point’s scorer the captain or team manager should keep a record of scorers and at the end of season we will want to see the records duly signed by the captain and verified by a club officer. Periodically we will ask your contact for an update for the website & local press.
