A pack of five members from Old Leamingtonians RFC joined over 700 other runners from all over the UK to take part in the taxing local Wolf Run 2011.
The team who ran in matching custom made vests consisted of men’s first team player David Canning, Warwickshire referee and ladies coach James Clarke and 3 ladies team players – Hannah Leyland, May Sly and Kat Senior.
The five runners had to challenge themselves mentally and physically over a 10k course including 10 gruelling obstacles. The runners had to contend with obstacles such as a swim through a 60m cold lake, mountains of hay bales, a dash through 80m of knee high mud, an 8ft wall and more!
Finishing in a very respectable 1hr and 5minutes the team raised over £600 for their two chosen charities – Help for Heroes and Cancer Research.
Team member and first team player David Canning said “this was a great challenge for a great pair of causes and we thank all those from the club, our work places, friends and family who supported us!”
The team are already planning for the newly announced April date for the next Wolf Run!
